It doesn’t take much more effort to plow bike lanes while doing the adjoining streets. I’m wondering if Public Works has ever considered this additional service. The newer bike lanes on Riverside are impassable during the winter due to the city filling them with plowed snow.
With the advancement of e-Bike technology, and as cars become more expensive to own and operate, it’s a viable option to have either
available for personal transport. If the city were to be consistent and focused on keeping bike lanes cleared and cleaned then we’d see an increase in bicycle use resulting in fewer cars.
